The
Holiness Fellowship of Jesus Christ

About Us

We are a local fellowship of the Body of believers who’ve heard and answered the call (Matt 20:16, 22:14) of our Lord, Savior, and King, Jesus Christ.

No matter what you’ve done, who you are, or who you currently believe yourself to be — as the world would put it: race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc. — if you believe and agree with God about what is good and what is evil (what is righteous and what is sin) and obey the full gospel of Jesus Christ; you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, having been forgiven and born again, and adopted as a son or daughter into God’s Kingdom.

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

While most of us know this highly encouraging verse for ALL peoples, many stop here and close their bibles. Yet, Jesus declares that, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4).

Those who have [genuine] belief (James 2:19) in the Son is how God sovereignly elects His people (Gal 3:6-7). His “elect” are chosen “out of the world” (John 15:19) to be set apart, that is, encouraged to strive for holiness (1 Pet 1:16), no longer living for the passing pleasures of sin (Hebrews 11:25), but rather day-by-day cleansing our hands from it and drawing near to God (James 4:8), desiring the truth found in God’s word (1 Pet 2:2) and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Pet 3:18).

As believers, we need to understand both the goodness AND the severity of God (Rom 11:22) and ministers of the faith should be preaching and/or teaching the full counsel of His word (Matt 4:4). The gospel of Christ is not fully shared in John 3:16 alone, but “repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name” (Luke 24:47).

A sinner cannot free himself/herself from bondage to sin and sinful desire. It is God who works in a person to will and do to His good pleasure (Phil 2:13), but He will not force anyone. We must agree with God, who says through the prophet Zechariah, “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” (Zech 4:6) and, therefore, make a free-will decision to submit/surrender to His lead (Rom 8:14) over our lives (in other words, Jesus is Lord; Rom 10:9).

Only God knows our hearts (John 2:23-25), and since the heart is deceitful (Jer 17:9), God has made it possible for us to judge ourselves by our “fruit” (outward change). The fruit we bear is our evidence of what’s happening in hearts (Luke 6:45); whether Jesus is indeed Lord of our lives (Matt 7:17-19).
